“Everything you see is a perspective, not the truth”

Perspective. The art of looking at the world in your own way. But there’s more to that. I believe everyone sees a different truth, because everyone is creating what they see. We choose to believe the ‘truth’ that seems to suit us the most. Is it the truth though? Not really. It’s rather our perspective. But what is perspective on a deeper level?

To me, perspective is self-expression. We usually see things as we are, not as they are. Perspective is a form of representing our thoughts. Noone believes what you see, even if they see it too. People often don’t realise that their opinion of the world is a confession of their character. We as humans have the ability to empathise, and yet we choose to be mediocre. Why,you ask? Well isn’t this mediocre? We choose a truth that aligns best with our thoughts. For us to believe a story happened,we must be willing to accept all the facts; including absurdities.

The world isn’t divided into truth and lies; it’s simply a strife of views. And every view is suited best to what we think of a situation. Sometimes a little shift in perspective changes the truth for us. It is concerning though, isn’t it? The world is simply a reflection of how you choose to view it; what we see depends on what we are looking for. It’s true about ourselves as well; we choose to view ourselves with a certain perspective. You’d say, that’s all? Everyone has a truth, simple. It’s far more than that. This strife is not just about our views, but also about proving how our view is accurate. It’s an ego war that overshadows the idea of empathy. It’s not only about putting our views forth, but subconsciously imposing it as the truth.

If for a second, we overlook the urge to prove ourselves right and try to understand a different perspective, we might find a better way to look at things. As they say, people who step out of the frame are the ones who see the whole picture. It is of course, easier said than done and in reality, this idealism is difficult to achieve. But as we try to understand all perspectives we realise that there is no one truth or lie.

There is no difference between sunrise and sunset. Both can be the beginning or end of night or day. It is how you choose to see it. Because ultimately, everything we hear is an opinion not a fact. And, everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.
