Sometimes don’t we take little things for granted? Here’s a small piece raw and unedited for you to read. Let me know what you think! Do like, share, comment and let me know what you think!! Enjoy reading!
“We often take for granted, the very things that deserve our gratitude”. Subconsciously through our mind, we don’t realise the depth of the things and moments we take for granted. It would all seem very usual but in reality it’s the little things that make living interesting.
Sometimes it’s the people.
The friends who make the stupidest jokes and you can’t help but laugh. Or your cousins who constantly tease you back and forth. Your mom, who gives you a warm hug at the end of the day. Your best friend, who’ll tease you all day but listen to you when you need them. Your grandmother, who spends that extra hour to make your favourite lunch.
Sometimes it’s the moments.
The moments where you meet someone close after a long time, and you have this urge to give them a long hug. Or the way a stranger smiles at you on the road. Sometimes it’s as simple as bickering with your sibling. Or it’s the feeling of realising how much you love your friends or family in the middle of laughing with them.
Sometimes it’s really just the little moments.
The way your coffee tastes in the morning. Or the way the sky looks. Sometimes your hair looks just like you want it to. Or your favourite book ends the way you thought it would.
There are so many little things as such that we take for granted. For a second, imagine these never happen. You never feel that little realisation of loving your close ones. Or you never smile at how your coffee tastes perfect every single morning. Wouldn’t everything seem out of place and boring? You’ve got to appreciate these little moments and people before it’s all gone.
But, there’s much more to taking for granted. There are much bigger things that we take for granted. Like time. We feel we have time. But in reality we don’t. The clock is always ticking and it wouldn’t tick in the other direction ever. You’ve to stop and admire the little things, express gratitude, and tell people what you feel about them. You have to try new things and do what you love. Because in the end, the clock is ticking. And if you keep taking things for granted, you won’t feel or be able to do anything completely. There’ll always be a sense of something being missing.
We take our health for granted. But how do you expect to live and travel without your mind supporting you through? We take efforts for granted. We don’t realise the time and efforts someone puts for us. We don’t express gratitude towards them. How do you expect these people to keep doing something for you, if you can’t reciprocate a thank you?
But above all this we take ourselves for granted. We spend so much time complaining, comparing, wishing, and waiting for something more that we miss out on what we already have. These simple little things are what keep us going, especially on tough days. Life is unpredictable. Only a single second, a single moment would be enough to pull away everything you take for granted. And then you’ll realise, what it meant all along. They say regret is stronger than gratitude but hey, let’s change that. Call someone you haven’t in a while and let them know that you still care about them. Next time someone does something for you, make sure to say thank you. If you’ve hurt someone and you know you have, apologise to them. Life is too short to not be grateful. live and love every moment. Express gratitude. You’ll realise the small moments you once took granted are anything but small.

That was, weirdly motivational, don't know if that was the goal, but, beautifully written. 10/10
