Being yourself : confidence edition

after a long time!! This topic came quite naturally and since we all need the confidence sometimes..here we go!! Do let me know what you think!! Happy reading


What you think, you become. What you feel you attract. What you imagine, you create. The power to beautify yourself lies within your soul and it enhances with confidence. But what is confidence? It`s the ability to feel beautiful without someone needing to tell you. The secret is quite simple; you have to be the best version of you. It can seem selfish but believe in yourself and believe that you deserve; the process is the magic.

What is the best version of yourself though? Is it a girl who has a perfect figure? Or a girl with a perfect life? No, it`s a girl who flaunts her imperfections with confidence. Personally I feel i dont have the right to tell you who or what your best version is. It`s for you to decide. I can however show you the way to find your best version.

  • The first step is self acceptance. Every person is unique and their existence has a unique meaning to it. Most of the times we try following people who`s energy inspires us and leaves us in awe. What we don't realise though is the fact that we can`t inspire others with copied energy; it has to come from within. Believe that your vibe is unique and watch yourself glow with confidence.

  • Work on yourself. Every single day work on things that bring out the best in you, things that help you grow: intellectually, and personality wise both! Try new things periodically. Along with working on your main goals, work on qualities that shape your character and make you a better human. Develop habits like reading regularly or engage into learning performing arts and sports. These help enhance your creative and logical abilities.

  • Believe in self-compassion: Have a positive attitude towards life and always keep a growth mindset. Understand what you want from life and live by a life mantra. Be kind and patient with yourself and everyone around you. Instead of beating yourself up, look for criterias to improve yourself and work on their betterment.

  • Organise: Organise yourself. An organised environment attracts more positivity and productivity. Sorting out goals and prioritising them is one of the best ways to start.(quick tip:start by prioritising goals into categories like personal, academic, important, etc). Workout a schedule for yourself that is both productive and easy to follow at the same time! (this really woks; i say it with personal experience). And ofcourse make sure that the routine you craft for yourself is not stressful. Make to-do lists on a daily basis (they should be realistic) and try to finish as many tasks as you can. But ofcourse, the quality of what you do would always matter over quantity; don`t forget!

  • Healthy choices: Workouts and exercise help release dopamine (happy hormones). The release of dopamine creates an enthusiastic mood and makes you feel good about yourself. Yoga routines work best to calm your mind. (ps: try a different workout/exersice everyday to make sure all those muscles get working). Working out with a playlist of your favoraite songs adds to the enthusiasm!

Choose food rich in nutrients and make healthy choices for yourself. Sleep for atleast 8 hours and drink loads of water. Oh and ofcourse wake up as early as you can. As you start your day early, higher productivity is promise 

  • Self analysis: Instead of running away from problems, try to face them in a mature way. Try to think from all perspectives and you might find your solution.instead of focusing where others went wrong, focus on what you did wrong, and improve that. Self analysis is always a win-win. Accept both criticism and compliments. A flower needs both rain and sunshine to grow!  

  • Self-care: face masks, diy manicure, a walk in the woods or just watching sunsets and listening to music! Pampering yourself produces a happy mode. Skin care is also an important aspect of being a teenager. Make sure your skin receives all the gentle pampering it deserves. Try out new hairstyles and wear outfits that make you feel like your on the top of the world! Also click loads of pictures!!

  • Listen to music: This is probably something everyone always does but hey! music is music! Make yourself a playlist that would boost your mood and make you feel more productive and confident! 

  • Humanity: Adapt humanity. Be genuine and kind towards others. Always be ready to help and dont shy away from opportunities.The world is a canvas that we paint with humanity. Remember, the light that comes from within shines the brightest!

  • It`s okay: As teenagers we make tons of mistakes and do crazy stuff and sometimes overthink alot. It`s okay and very normal. It`s also okay to just not be okay sometimes. Just go with the flow and do what you feel is right but at the same time make sure you are making a good decision. Talk to people you trust (aka your best friends, and your mom!). Make sure to pour out emotions. I find writing the best way to do so but if you`re not very comfortable with writing you can always do things that`ll help you clear your mind.

  • Social enviroment: Have a group of friends who are genuine and make you feel good about yourself! (I have the bestest of friends anyone can ever have and I hope you find your tribe too!). Enroll in social activities and events and stay connected to people, it has an excellent impact in happening your personality. Work on good body language; it gives out a graceful vibe!

Last of all keep smiling and sparkle with a shine of confidence! Let those pretty eyes ignite with the fire within! Hope you have a good day and I hope I`ve been able to help you in someway!
