Do you ever just want to lace up your shoes and wander off? Wanderlust. The urge to travel. There is nothing as enthralling yet scary as travelling. You leave as one person and come back as another. It’s sometimes the beaches and the mountains. Or sometimes the cliffs over deep oceans. They bring a feeling that nothing can match up to.
We have our ideas while travelling to a place but those turn into experiences as we come back. We leave home as one identity but it changes across the journey. The interwines of a place change us.
Travelling is to be free. We free our mind, walk out of shells and explore. It’s not always simple, but it teaches us to live in ways that are unique to itself. It’s that one thing where we let our heart take over. Logic is gone. Everything feels lighter; easier. You see the world beyond your knowledge.
Travelling messes you up; in a good way. It makes you ask questions and leaves you yearning for answers. It makes you crave adventure.
We travel because the distance and the difference does wonders to our creativity. You have moments where you say ‘I want to go home’ But every time you back, something feels different. Why? Because your mind has changed. It gives you a vision to look at something in a new way.
That’s what travelling does to your mind. It opens up the world to you in countless ways. It shows you that not everything fits into boxes. You can’t experience everything through a single vision. You have to expand your horizon, shift around and feel. You have to move out of routine patterns.
Some people say travelling is uncomfortable. And I agree, it’s not always pretty. But you know what? It should be that way. It should be uncomfortable; so you break patterns. It should make you tired of your own thoughts so you would explore others’.
Eventually you’ll realise, it doesn’t make the journey uncomfortable but the thought of staying in a place is agonising. Why should everything be same? It’s the difference that makes the world beautiful. It’s addictive; it gives you this urge to keep going back. And why shouldn’t it? Your mind has to itch at the idea of exploring new places. When you put your heart out there; you’ll find yourself.
Coming back home from adventure, you meet a new stranger; yourself. And you understand this person a little better. Why, you ask? Because everything in life might pull you to exist. But travelling? It’ll teach you to live.
And that’s the goal.
I hope you enjoyed!! Please let me know what you think!! Do like, share and comment.
Have a great day!

Brilliantly written. Great way of reminding me of the importance of travelling (and reducing my time spent inside the four walls).
